Time Required:
Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Method of Cooking:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, fresh mint leaves, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a uniform mixture.
- Shape the chicken mixture into small, round kofta balls. Set them aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the gram flour and yogurt to make a smooth paste. This will be used to make the gravy for the koftas.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully place the chicken kofta balls into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- In the same pan, add the tomato puree and cook for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. Then, add the gram flour and yogurt paste to the pan and stir continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens and the raw taste of gram flour disappears.
- Gently place the fried chicken koftas into the gravy and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing them to soak in the flavors of the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a drizzle of cream if desired.
